Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Social Work
- A license or certification to practice Social Work
- 2+ years of Experience in an educational environment
- Professionalism and discretion
- Good relationships with relevant social services
- Bilingual
Skills:
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely in both individual and group settings
- Actively promote Career Success Schools and engage in recruitment efforts to attract students
- Possess a deep understanding of counseling techniques, instructional strategies, and behavioral interventions to support student learning and development
- Proficient in individual and group assessment methods, data analysis, and statistical evaluation to enhance educational outcomes
- Familiarity with community resources and ability to facilitate access to support services such as shelters, food banks, and medical facilities
- Extensive knowledge of specific childhood challenges, including abuse and depression, with strategies to address these in an educational setting
- Knowledge of the unique physical, psychological, and social changes students experience and a desire to help students grow in these areas
- Well-versed in federal and state educational laws for students with disabilities, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504
- Experience with students who are enrolled in alternative education
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining effective relationships with students, parents, staff, and community partners
- Proactive in problem-solving, eager to take on new responsibilities, and adept at prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment
- Efficient in addressing and resolving inquiries from students and parents in a positive and timely manner
- Active participation in team discussions, showing openness to new ideas and a cooperative spirit in decision-making processes
- Demonstrate practical expertise and technical proficiency in job-related areas
- Uphold the principles of respect, dignity, and fairness in all interactions.

- Uphold a high standard of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Counsel students facing personal and psychological challenges that impact their academic performance, behavior, and social integration within the school
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to address and resolve students' behavioral and emotional issues by investigating the underlying causes of their distress
- Facilitate access to external support services for students experiencing economic, emotional, physical, or clinical difficulties as needed
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents, teachers, and administrators to effectively understand and address the multifaceted challenges faced by students
- Keep accurate and detailed case files and reports to monitor and document students' progress and any issues encountered
- Initiate clinical referrals to appropriate external professionals when necessary to address more severe mental health or behavioral issues
- Assist students and their families who are affected by abuse, violence, hunger, or homelessness by connecting them with essential resources such as shelters, food banks, medical care, and clinical services
- Perform all other duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of the school and its students
