Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Sports Mentor, Sports Academy - $150,000/year USD

Competing at the highest tier—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—requires unwavering discipline. The question is: can you convert those championship lessons into concrete coaching methods that turn students into high performers?

Texas Sports Academy is where your next challenge lies: developing champions not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily engagement that pushes students beyond their perceived boundaries. You won’t simply recount your achievements; instead, you’ll convert elite‑level athletic discipline into practical motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead dynamic practice sessions where every participant is held to championship expectations.

Austin provides year‑round access to outdoor training facilities, a robust sports culture, and a purpose‑driven environment where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring future leaders.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conducting proactive one‑on‑one motivational sessions that convert your athletic discipline into concrete, actionable coaching frameworks
  • Facilitating high‑energy morning assemblies that activate the entire student community
  • Delivering interactive life‑skills workshops where you coach students directly through exercises focused on resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Leading structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (far beyond supervising activities)
  • Engaging proactively with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during independent study periods, stepping in to energize students when they plateau, and generating teachable moments that catalyze breakthrough progress
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Observing passively from the sidelines: this is an active coaching position, not ceremonial. You’ll be on the ground, directly engaging students, leading sessions, and making real‑time interventions.
  • Delivering traditional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students use adaptive applications for academic learning. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching meta‑skills through athletic mentorship and sport.
Basic Requirements
  • Former elite athlete experience at the pinnacle of sport—Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, or NCAA Division I All‑Americans
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject
  • Documented experience leveraging sport to mentor and develop life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
