Early Head Start Teacher

Whiz Kidz Preschool is seeking a dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join our Ahwatukee campus, working with our youngest learners — infants and toddlers from 6 weeks to 2 years old.

This is a specialized role within our Early Head Start program, serving families during the most critical years of early development.

As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will:

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers
• Conduct ongoing child observations and developmental assessments
• Maintain required Early Head Start and state licensing standards
• Foster secure attachments and responsive caregiving
• Partner closely with families through consistent communication
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
• Support children’s physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development

Working with infants and toddlers is physically active and hands‑on.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

• Lift and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds
• Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and sit on the floor
• Stand for extended periods
• Safely lift infants in and out of cribs
• Assist with feeding, diapering, and toileting
• Maintain continuous visual and auditory supervision
• Move quickly and appropriately in emergency situations

Safety and compliance are non‑negotiable.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or closely related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) credential (Infant/Toddler preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience in a licensed childcare center (infant/toddler experience strongly preferred)
• AZ DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• This position must meet all Early Head Start and Arizona licensing standards.
