Hiring Rate: $1,019.00 per load hour.

The School of Business is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach Marketing courses in the Management AAS program and upper‑division courses in the BS in Business program.

Effective faculty should prioritize student success and be willing to use varied delivery methods and course design. This includes interactive, online, day, evening, weekend classes and teaching at multiple College locations, including high school/college dual enrollment programs. Faculty should support both traditional (16‑week) and compressed (8‑week) courses, innovative assessment forms, and the use of Open Educational Resources when possible.

Unofficial transcripts must be attached at the time of application submission.

Terms of Teaching Assignment
  • Meet and teach assigned class(s) according to course outlines, including specified textbooks.
  • Develop and submit a course syllabus and calendar based on the approved college course outline prior to class. The syllabus must incorporate required components.
  • Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year.
  • Follow accepted faculty conduct standards as described in academic policies.
  • Use the official Yavapai College email address for official correspondence and respond to students professionally.
  • Attend required instructional meetings such as orientation, department/division meetings, and other meetings as required.
  • Attend meetings and workshops necessary to obtain or renew certification or licensure requirements.
  • Complete all required NEOED trainings annually.
  • New adjunct faculty must complete the Teaching Online Readiness Course in Canvas within the first semester of teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities offered at Yavapai College, including orientation, workshops, trainings, Convocation, and division/department meetings.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Employment is on a non‑continuing basis, and consecutive teaching assignments do not lead to probationary or continuing faculty status. Teaching assignments are part‑time, on a semester basis only, and may or may not be continued based on student enrollment and College need.

Academic Credentials
  • A Master’s degree or higher in the discipline or subfield.
  • A Master’s degree or higher in any discipline AND 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline or subfield.

Exceptions are permitted on a case‑by‑case basis by full‑time faculty and the Academic Dean, in line with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) guidelines. Possible exceptions include achievement of academic credentials, progress toward credentials, equivalent experience, or a combination thereof.

Qualifications
  • Current community college or other higher education teaching experience with prepared materials.
  • Experience with online learning systems such as Canvas.

Physical Demands

The successful candidate must meet the physical demands described to complete the job. Duties require the employee to sit and communicate effectively and regularly, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
