Job Qualifications- Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in education from an accredited college or university. - Single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject.
- A valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate, or the ability to obtain one with the appropriate endorsement(s).
- Valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices.
- This individual will exhibit the skills pertinent to fostering positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with teachers and staff.
- Ability to facilitate learning, professional development, instructional oversight, and coaching.
- Ability to deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across disciplines.
- Relevant teaching experience.
Physical Requirements
Reports to: Building Principal
Work Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time
- May supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, and outdoor spaces.
- Normal 4-8 hour workdays, except professional development and extracurricular activities may extend work hours.
- Engaging with diverse teachers, classroom observations, modeling lessons, curriculum support and mapping, and addressing learning differences.
- May spend long hours standing and walking around the classroom or school premises.
- May need to lift books, teaching materials, and classroom supplies weighing 20 lbs. or more at times.
- Positively influences teachers’ ability to implement the planned program of instruction.
- Embraces a diverse student and staff population.
- Maintains open lines of communication with parents, guardians, and staff.
- Engages in professional growth activities to increase job-related knowledge and skill development.
- Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the school’s instructional program and overall goals.
- Planning, organizing and implementing an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
- Prioritize classroom visits in order to support teachers and assist with their retention.
- Support teachers in the daily implementation of all curriculum and instructional related elements.
- Ability to create and maintain positive and supportive relationships with the School Leader and school staff.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations for the purpose of support, identifying areas of strength and opportunity, and identify professional development needs of classroom teachers.
- Provide meaningful feedback to teachers.
- Select appropriate instructional practices for various student groups in support of all teachers.
- Familiar with a variety of instruments, technology tools, and other resources for assessing and enhancing student performance.
- Knowledge of how to train staff to map and align the curriculum.
- Ensure alignment between the locally implemented curriculum and Arizona State Standards.
- Disaggregate student data for instructional planning and professional development.
- Ensure alignment between the written, implemented, and assessed curriculum; and provide support in the development of pacing guides.
- Ensure the development of weekly lesson plans; mentor teachers in the development and implementation of those lesson plans.
- Meet with teachers on a weekly basis during PLC, 1:1 sessions, or on an as needed basis.
- Assist teachers in using data to design student instruction and assessment.
- Actively attend and participate in all scheduled curriculum coach meetings and related best practices activities/opportunities.
- Willingness to share acquired knowledge through formal and informal professional development opportunities.
