Position Summary:
The subject matter expert/SME will play a critical role in shaping high-quality, industry-relevant curriculum and ensuring standardization across campuses. This individual will collaborate closely with content developers, curriculum team, the Education Department, and the B2B division to create, enhance, and update instructional materials while supporting consistency in lab equipment and instructional delivery.
Responsibilities:
Course Development & Content Creation
- Partner with content developers to design and build courses specific to electrical or refrigeration fields.
- Develop instructional materials that align with industry standards, licensing requirements, and best practices.
- Ensure content is engaging, accurate, and relevant for learners preparing for careers in the trades.
- Collaborate with the B2B division and Education Department to systematically review and rewrite existing content, transitioning it into proprietary Stratatech-owned curriculum.
- Refresh and enhance courses to maintain relevance with evolving technologies, tools, and industry practices.
- Work with the B2B division to develop client-specific content as needed.
- Provide technical expertise and ensure accuracy in all revised content.
- Work with curriculum teams to evaluate, update, and standardize program content.
- Identify, develop, and implement improvements to instructional design and course flow to optimize student success.
- Sit in on Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, capture industry feedback, and integrate recommendations into courses to prepare graduates for industry standards.
- Participate in monthly curriculum meetings and collaborate with the curriculum team on course and content revisions as needed.
- Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies and industry advancements into courses.
- Collaborate with campus teams to standardize lab equipment, tools, and supplies across all locations.
- Support faculty in implementing consistent, high-quality delivery of technical training.
- Provide guidance to ensure lab environments reflect real-world industry standards.
Education & Experience
- Journeyman or Master-level license in trades, or equivalent industry certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, field-based experience in the trade.
- Prior experience in training, teaching, or curriculum development is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of trade practices, tools, and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with educational technology, digital learning platforms, and instructional design principles is a plus.
