Campus Support

Location: Campo Bello Elementary School

Position Type: Non-Interim

Term: 9 months, Various hours (Aug 3, 2026 - May 27, 2027)

Salary: $15.15/hr (Grade 10)

Purpose Statement: The job of Campus Support is to provide support to the instructional process with responsibilities for ensuring safety and welfare of students in various support service areas including noon duty coverage, AM/PM duty coverage, classroom assistance, crosswalk coverage, and other areas as needed on campus.

Essential Functions
  • Assists students in safe access to and from assigned location.
  • Communicates safety and security policies and enforcement procedures to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintains job related equipment (e.g., stop sign, jacket, sand bags, flag, etc.).
  • Monitors individual and/or groups of students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips, between assigned periods, library, lunchroom, bus loading/unloading, etc.) to ensure student compliance with guidelines and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Monitors student behavior entering and exiting school grounds for compliance with guidelines and maintaining safety.
  • Refs incidents (personal injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, rule violations, etc.) to appropriate site personnel.
  • Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students (accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, rule violations, safety conditions, etc.) to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries from students and parents regarding campus security issues.
  • Responds to a variety of situations (accidents, injuries, etc.) to resolve immediate safety and security concerns.
  • Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel in ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
Other Functions
  • Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Skills:

    Adhere to safety practices; enforce rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge:
    Basic math; understand written procedures; write routine documents; speak clearly; understand complex, multi-step instructions; safety practices and procedures; traffic laws.
  • Abilities:
    Schedule activities; collate data; use basic job-related equipment; flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances; problem solving to identify issues and create action plans; display tact and courtesy; attentiveness to detail; maintain confidentiality.
Responsibility

Responsibilities include working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and/or advising others; continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services.

Work Environment

Physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and fine finger dexterity. Generally requires 40% sitting, 30% walking, 30% standing. Job performed under temperature extremes and risk of injury and/or illness.

Experience

Job related experience desired.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
