Math Teacher.
Location:
Greenway Middle School. FTE: 1.0. Non-Interim Position. Dates: 07/27/2026 - 05/27/2027.
Purpose:
To support the instructional process by providing instruction and guidance across the middle school curriculum, supervising students, developing lesson plans, collaborating with staff, and responding to inquiries from parents and guardians regarding program and student progress.
This position reports to Site Administrator.
Essential Functions- Administers subject‑specific assessments to gauge student competencies.
- Advises parents and/or guardians on student progress, expectations, achievements, and strategies for improvement.
- Advise students on performance, health status, problem‑solving techniques and personal issues.
- Assess student progress towards objectives to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Collaborate with instructional staff, school personnel, district personnel, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes and meet classroom objectives.
- Demonstrate pedagogical approaches that engage learners to achieve effective program outcomes.
- Differentiates classroom work to provide individualized learning materials within lesson plans.
- Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers to support classroom program and student needs.
- Instructs students to improve academic success.
- Manages student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
- Monitors students in various settings (classroom, field trips, athletic events) to maintain safety and positivity.
- Participates in meetings (district, staff, departmental) to convey and gather information necessary for performance.
- Participates on PLC team to review data and instructional practices.
- Prepares written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records) for documentation of progress and mandated requirements.
- Reports health and safety issues to administrators and agencies (e.g., fights, abuse, inappropriate behaviors) to maintain safety and compliance.
- Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators to resolve issues and provide information.
- Responds to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns and direct to appropriate personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Skills:
Application of assessment instruments, operation of standard office equipment and software, record maintenance, curriculum and instruction application.
Knowledge:
Understanding of algebra and/or geometry, comprehension of technical information, knowledge of policies, regulations, and codes, lesson planning, child development stages, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques.
Abilities:
Scheduling activities, data collection and analysis, use of job‑related equipment, flexibility to work with diverse individuals, problem‑solving, maintain confidentiality, adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines, work as a team, adhere to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision using standardized practices, directing others within a small unit, utilizing resources from other units, and impacting organization services.
Work EnvironmentPhysical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fine finger dexterity. Predominant posture: 10% sitting, 40% walking, 50% standing. Job conditions involve temperature extremes and risk of injury/illness.
ExperienceJob‑related experience desired.
EducationBachelor’s degree in a related field.

- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
