The purpose of the CE Childcare Associate I is to support the instructional program within the assigned classroom by implementing programs for the personal and emotional growth of the students, assisting in behavior monitoring, and communicating observations to teachers, parents, and administrators.
Essential Functions- Administers first aid and provides immediate care for ill, medically fragile, and/or injured children.
- Assists students with personal care needs such as diapering, toilet training, and feeding.
- Supports the site manager in providing age‑appropriate activities through games, art, music, science, language, nutrition, playground, and hand‑washing.
- Communicates with internal personnel to convey and receive information required for job functions.
- Completes a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually to meet Department of Health Services regulations.
- Distributes instructional and play materials to provide required supplies.
- Establishes positive relationships to build student confidence and self‑esteem.
- Implements instructional programs and lesson plans under the supervision of the assigned site manager.
- Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and records for a safe, comfortable, supportive learning environment.
- Maintains acceptable behavior standards consistent with district and program policy.
- Monitors individual and groups of students in various settings to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
- Organizes indoor and outdoor activities to actively participate in learning with children.
- Prepares nutritional snacks, lunches, and bottles in accordance with guidelines.
- Provides ongoing feedback to supervisor, teacher, and parents regarding student progress.
- Transfers children directly from/to parents or designee to ensure safety and meet district requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements– Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Prepares and maintains accurate records.
- Basic math, reading instructions, and understanding multi‑step written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of child development stages, methods of motivating and controlling children, and awareness of codes, regulations, and laws related to counseling students.
- Schedules activities, gathers data, and uses basic job‑related equipment.
- Flexibility to work with others and utilize job‑related equipment using standardized methods.
- Problem‑solving to identify issues and create action plans.
- Provides direction and leadership; communicates with persons of varied backgrounds; maintains confidentiality; adapts to changing priorities; works as part of a team.

Experience
Job related experience is desired.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
