The Transformational Teacher Leader (TTL) serves as a site-based instructional leader responsible for coaching and developing a team of teachers to ensure high levels of student learning. Grounded in ASU Prep’s Teaching and Learning Framework, the TTL leads ongoing coaching cycles, facilitates collaborative planning, and uses student data to guide instructional decisions and team goals. This role includes modeling and co-teaching research-based practices, leading professional learning, and supporting teachers in designing rigorous, student-centered instruction that meets diverse learning needs.

The TTL fosters a collaborative team culture, aligns instructional practices across classrooms, and contributes to continuous improvement through feedback and shared responsibility for student outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree required

M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary or Secondary Education, Education Leadership, or equivalent preferred

Valid Arizona Teacher Certification required3+ years of K12 classroom teaching experience required

Experience in leading and managing collaborative teams preferred

Experience in curriculum development, research-based instructional practices, and project-based learning preferred

Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Transformational Teacher Leader will be designated to a specific school site and team. Critical responsibilities as an instructional leader encompass:

Lead and coach a team of teachers to ensure the academic success for a shared group of students. Coaching includes, but is not limited to, developing personalized and team goals, developing agendas and collaborative planning, meeting with teachers regularly to engage in student-centered coaching cycles, reflecting on classroom practices, conducting learning walks, applying data-driven research, and engaging in collaborative conversations. Deliberate teacher coaching occurs a minimum of two hours daily.

Lead professional development sessions for teams and the broader school community, promoting the integration of innovative practices and pedagogical approaches aligned with ASU Prep's core values and ASU Prep’s curricular and program initiatives, such as ASU Prep’s Teaching and Learning Framework.

Model and co-teach research-based instructional practices, including High Leverage Practices (Check for Understanding, Direct Instruction, Gradual Release of Responsibility) that support how students learn–building understanding of content, providing structured practice to process and persist through challenges, and using ongoing checks for understanding to adjust instruction based on student data. Continuously seeks out and applies additional evidence-based strategies.

Establish ambitious, measurable achievement standards for all students under the team's guidance. Tailor instructional strategies to address diverse learning needs, fostering a culture of inclusivity and individual growth.

Construct and share instructional tools base, materials, and resources that align with the team’s pedagogical approach and ensure student-centered learning based on academic and coaching data.

Collaboratively design comprehensive lesson plans that resonate with instructional objectives and enrichment.

Cultivate enriched and personalized instruction that mirrors each student's learning level and interests.
