Course:
Higher Geometry

This course provides an axiomatic approach to geometry, including analysis of the parallel postulate and an introduction to non‑Euclidean models. Other topics include planar transformations and isometry groups, analytic geometry, and the history of geometry.

What You Will Do
  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
What You Will Bring
  • Preferred:
    PhD in Mathematics OR
    • Statistics OR
    • Closely related field with high school or post‑secondary teaching experience
  • Minimum:
    Master’s in Mathematics OR
    • Statistics OR
    • Closely related field which requires calculus or above, or statistics coursework, such as Physics and Engineering
  • Candidates with a Master's degree in any discipline and 3‑5 years of experience teaching high school or post‑secondary applied mathematics may also be considered
