• STARTING HOURLY RATE: $21.06 - $22.03 (PLACEMENT DEPENDS ON EDUCATION AND SIMILAR EXPERIENCE HELD)

The Phoenix Union High School District serves a diverse population of students and staff across its campuses, including comprehensive schools, specialty schools, and Career & Technical Education offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison to connect parents, staff, and students to on-campus social emotional support programs and community agency referrals; network with various agencies to support student and staff needs.
  • Maintain databases for campus, family and community engagement supports and intervention programs; collect data and statistics for dropout prevention and district reports.
  • Create and maintain a database to track community agency partnerships and volunteers; develop and maintain documentation including contracts and required forms to ensure compliance with district policies.
  • Work collaboratively with administration and other Student Support Services staff to meet student needs; refer students and families to outside agencies for medical, dental, mental health, social services, and other resources; assist with scheduling and follow-up as needed.
  • Gather evaluation information to monitor program success and share findings with administration, counselors, the School Improvement Team, or other groups; coordinate and review data from Student Support Services and outside agencies to compile monthly reports.
  • Serve as campus coordinator for mandated groups and interventions; create campus schedule, reserve group rooms, and ensure two trained facilitators are present for meetings.
  • Oversee and coordinate the district volunteer clearance process and campus procedures; assist administrators and counselors in ensuring campus representation as a co-facilitator or support role for social service or community agency staff working with PXU students.
  • Organize workshops and training for parents, staff, and students on programs and services available through school/community partnerships.
  • Create and maintain a database of students receiving social services through school and community partnerships; provide follow-up and regular monitoring of students involved in interventions; use data to inform evaluation.
  • Serve as a member of the campus student support services team and participate in i-team and crisis team as needed.
  • Conduct home visits and deliver food boxes and other supplies per established protocols.
  • Support relationships with the district and the public by maintaining confidentiality, following governing policies, and performing related duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:

High School diploma or GED equivalent; degree or college level coursework preferred; AND one year of experience working with at-risk youth programs; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Fluency in language of the target population to be served is preferred.

License and Certification Requirements:

A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required. Must possess a valid Maricopa County food handler's card at the time of hire. Must possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays of employment.

  • Experience working in a liaison capacity with campus staff, programs, and social/community service agencies.
  • Skill in writing professional reports and correspondence from brief instructions.
  • Skill in understanding, explaining, and applying relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer experiences, including interacting tactfully and courteously with the public.
