Grand Canyon University (GCU) is a private, non‑denominational Christian university located in Phoenix, AZ. The College of Nursing and Health Care Professions is seeking a full‑time faculty/leadership member for its Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This full‑time faculty/leadership position requires presence on the Phoenix campus and is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Deliver instruction to students, stimulate class discussions, and provide feedback on examinations and assignments.
- Remain current with new trends and developments in your field of expertise.
- Assess and report on program metrics—including faculty workload, scholarly productivity, student satisfaction, program graduates, graduation rates, and enrollments—to assure program goals are being met.
- Develop and provide instruction consistent with the University’s course load requirements, incorporating current teaching methodologies, technologies, and trends.
- Engage students in the classroom to stimulate discussions for collective learning and mentor them outside classroom hours.
- Incorporate research resources and experiential activities to support course objectives, lectures, and learning outcomes.
- Assess student performance in areas such as progress, professional behaviors, and academic standing in accordance with the University’s assessment practices and accreditation standards.
- Assist with curriculum design and development, and advocate for changes to programs, curriculum, and teaching methodologies/pedagogies.
- Active, unencumbered PT license in the State of Arizona.
- Academic doctoral degree:
PhD or EdD. - Minimum of six years full‑time higher‑education experience.
- Minimum of three years full‑time experience as a core faculty member in a CAPTE‑accredited entry‑level physical therapist education program.
- Experience in administration, management and leadership.
- Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation, outcome assessment, fiscal management, program evaluation, assessment and curriculum development.
- Prior engagement at the academic or institutional level.
- Evidence of involvement in your professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research and/or publications).
- Provides a positive example to faculty and students by supporting the University’s Mission, Doctrinal Statement, and Ethical Position Statement.
