• All coaches must be a district approved volunteer.

The job of Assistant Coach is designed to implement program activities in accordance with applicable rules, provide supervision of student athletes, use sound instructional techniques, and serve as a positive role model.

• Assess student athletes and provide feedback on performance.
• Attend meetings, workshops, conferences to receive and convey information.
• Communicate with parents, students, officials, administrators, and community.
• Instruct student athletes to promote growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Maintain records such as game statistics, insurance, permission forms, schedules, and equipment inventories.
• Manage uniforms, equipment, and school facilities.
• Monitor academic eligibility, provide intervention as needed.
• Supervise athletes to ensure minimal risk of injury.
• Teach techniques, rules, strategies, and tactics for competition.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Adapt to changing work priorities; administer first aid; apply laws, codes, policies.
• Basic math and technical writing; interpret complex information.
• Knowledge of equipment, injury prevention, eligibility, attendance, public relations.
• Ability to schedule, gather data, handle diverse individuals, problem solve.

Work under limited supervision, direct other persons in a small unit.

Physical demands: occasional lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling; requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, 40% standing.

Job related experience is required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Criminal background clearance;
Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
