DescriptionThe School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD) in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions for the academic year. Faculty Associates and Academic Associates are part‑time appointments who are hired on one‑semester, renewable contracts to teach one or two courses (not to exceed 0.40 FTE) per semester, either in‑person or online.
Faculty Associate and Academic Associate positions are fixed‑term appointments that are not eligible for benefits, sabbaticals, or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates and Academic Associates may not hold multiple, non‑benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.
For this position, we seek a pool of qualified people who are available to teach in‑person courses on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix or Tempe campus or online.

Courses are delivered through in‑person, online, and hybrid platforms and have been taught multiple times with a well‑defined syllabus outlining purpose, content, readings, and assignments.
Essential Functions:
- Teach courses as assigned.
- Deliver engaging in‑person (and/or online) lectures, discussions, and content.
- Contribute to the creation of assignments and exams.
- Evaluate and grade student work according to rubrics.
- Manage Canvas learning management platform and hold office hours to assist students.
- Applicants should be comfortable with technology; enjoy the idea of educating students in a higher education environment and bring demonstrated evidence of a strong appetite and success for teaching, leading, learning.
