The Junior Counselors (NFWS) will work as part of a team supporting the traditional ground campus at large enroll qualified students to attend. The role is heavily outbound and involves guiding students and families through Grand Canyon University's (GCU) admission process.
Responsibilities- Build relationships and trust over the phone with students, parents, or high school administrators.
- Use university systems to execute recruitment tasks, including processing university information and communicating with prospective students in an approachable manner.
- Organize time effectively to complete prioritized work and achieve desired contact rates while ensuring service quality.
- Discuss prospective student background, goals, and objectives to determine fit with GCU’s academic programs, and assist with the collection of admissions paperwork.
- Coordinate virtual and onsite visitations and meetings for University Admissions Counselors, and transfer student inquiries to the assigned counselor as needed.
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students inquiring about GCU’s collegiate programs, working in a team environment and communicating with other campus departments and leadership.

- Highly motivated with a passion for student success and GCU’s Christian mission.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of other systems is desired.
- Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA for Bachelor level or a 3.0 GPA for Master level students.
- Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
- Subject to termination if below the minimum requirements.
- Monday‑Thursday: 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Saturday: 9:00am – 1:00pm (later afternoon shift availability preferred)

June 30, 2027
