Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. Grand Canyon University is seeking a Life Leader Coordinator to carry out the activities and events of the Life Group program within the Department of Spiritual Life. The Life Group program consists of student leaders responsible for leading small group bibles and shepherding students on campus.
The Life Leader Coordinator will assist with recruiting, training, mentoring, and discipling student leaders while also participating in and providing leadership to ministry programs and events within the Department of Spiritual Life.
- Support and carry out the vision and mission of the life leader program through effective planning and organization of administrative details.
- Provide training and mentorship to Life Leaders in their student leadership roles.
- Assist the Life Groups Manager in planning, developing, and implementing special projects and events as necessary.
- Assist in developing training content, coordinating training schedules and/or delivering training for student leaders throughout the school year.
- Support the overall mission of the Department of Spiritual Life with the Life Leader Program, integrating student leaders into chapel and other events in ways that provide opportunity for service and ministry.
- Develop and maintain various reports such as chapel attendance, life group attendance, monitoring student leader scholarship requirements, etc. pertaining to life leader students and coordinate effective and regular communications methods within the life leader program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- A ministry-related program is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of ministry experience with a minimum of one year of program leadership responsibility, preferably with college students or within a higher-education institution.
- Demonstrated experience with mentoring college students, planning and leading student events and communication.
- Committed to growing and furthering a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the local church.
- Understanding of Christian doctrine and ministry approaches.
- Strong communication, administrative, and personnel management skills related to people and programs in a ministry or related setting.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
