- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)/restraint certification, First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course completed at first available offering by District.
- High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
Principal, professional staff to whom assigned
Job GoalTo assist professional staff members by performing a variety of tasks related to supporting student behaviors.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide behavioral support to students under the direction of a certified staff member.
- Support the school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.
- Provide mentoring to assigned students.
- Assist in preparing/presenting instructional materials to support the District’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum.
- Assist with maintaining individual student records as assigned.
- Assist in supervising students in the classroom, lunchroom, and on the playground under the supervision of a certified staff member.
- Participate as appropriate in assigned students’ individual behavior intervention plans.
- Present subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as direct instruction, discussion, and supervised role-playing, under the supervision of a certified staff member.
- Assist students, individually or in groups, with strategies to develop skills needed to regularly practice self-regulation habits.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
- Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios.
- Read a variety of manuals; writes documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others.
- Understand multi-step written and oral instructions.
