Job Description Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with teachers, support staff, and school administrators.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)/restraint certification, First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course completed at first available offering by District.
  • High school diploma preferred or equivalent.
Reports To

Principal, professional staff to whom assigned

Job Goal

To assist professional staff members by performing a variety of tasks related to supporting student behaviors.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral support to students under the direction of a certified staff member.
  • Support the school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.
  • Provide mentoring to assigned students.
  • Assist in preparing/presenting instructional materials to support the District’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum.
  • Assist with maintaining individual student records as assigned.
  • Assist in supervising students in the classroom, lunchroom, and on the playground under the supervision of a certified staff member.
  • Participate as appropriate in assigned students’ individual behavior intervention plans.
  • Present subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as direct instruction, discussion, and supervised role-playing, under the supervision of a certified staff member.
  • Assist students, individually or in groups, with strategies to develop skills needed to regularly practice self-regulation habits.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
