Job Overview
The purpose of this role is to support the instructional process by serving as a Middle School Math Teacher. Responsibilities include developing student success in academics, supervising students, creating lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with faculty and staff, and responding to inquiries from parents and guardians about instructional programs and student progress.

- Administers subject‑specific assessments and tests to evaluate student competencies.
- Advises parents/legal guardians on student progress, expectations, achievements, and improvement strategies.
- Supports students in improving academic performance, health status, problem‑solving skills, and personal issues.
- Assesses student progress toward objectives and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, school personnel, district staff, parents, and community resources to enhance student outcomes.
- Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners and address individual student needs.
- Differentiates classroom work to meet individualized learning within established lesson plans.
- Directs students, assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom operations.
- Instructs students to improve academic success through a defined course of study.
- Manages student behavior to create a safe and optimal learning environment.
- Monitors students in various settings (e.g., classroom, field trips, athletic events) to ensure safety and positivity.
- Participates in district, staff, and departmental meetings to discuss instructional practices and data.
- Collaborates on PLC teams to review data and instructional strategies.
- Prepares written materials—grades, attendance, anecdotal records—for documentation and compliance.
- Reports health and safety concerns to administrators and appropriate agencies.
- Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators, and others for issue resolution and information.
- Responds to emergencies to address immediate safety concerns.
Performs additional related duties as assigned to support efficient unit operations.
Job Requirements:Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Skill:
Apply assessment instruments, use standard office equipment and software, maintain accurate records, and apply curriculum techniques. - Knowledge:
Algebra and/or geometry; interpret technical information; understand policies, regulations, age‑appropriate activities, lesson planning, child development stages, behavior strategies, assessment instruments, and instruction methods. - Ability:
Schedule activities, gather and analyze data, work flexibly with others, maintain confidentiality, exhibit patience, meet deadlines, and adhere to school and district policies.
Work under limited supervision, direct others within a small unit, and utilize resources from other units to execute job functions.
Work EnvironmentPhysical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Typical time distribution: 10% sitting, 40% walking, 50% standing. The work may involve temperature extremes and exposure to injury or illness.
ExperienceRelated job experience is desired.
EducationBachelor's degree in a job‑related field.
Required Testing, Certificates, and Licenses- Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriately certified in Core Content Area.
- SEI Endorsement required.
- Criminal Background Clearance.
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Exempt.
