Teacher Position Summary

ThrivePoint High School is seeking passionate, student-centered teachers who are committed to helping students achieve academic success and graduate ready for their next step. ThrivePoint teachers serve as both instructors and mentors, building meaningful relationships with students and families while supporting learning in a flexible, personalized environment.

Teachers provide academic instruction, monitor student progress, communicate regularly with families, and collaborate with Student Success Coaches and campus staff to ensure students remain on track for graduation.

This position supports both in-person and virtual learning and requires active engagement with students throughout the school year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Student Instruction & Support
  • Facilitate engaging instruction and academic support for students in both in-person and virtual settings.
  • Provide individualized and small-group instructional support based on student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and intervene proactively when students fall behind.
  • Maintain clearly communicated office hours and be available to support students and families.
  • Promote student engagement through relationship-building, encouragement, and consistent academic guidance.
Grading & Academic Monitoring
  • Grade student work and provide meaningful feedback within 24-48 hours of submission.
  • Respond to student and family communications within 24-48 hours during the work week.
  • Monitor student progress toward course completion and graduation goals.
  • Submit completed courses for credit within established timelines.
  • Follow established procedures for course extensions, in completes, and course completion requests.
Family & Student Communication
  • Maintain regular communication with students and parents/guardians regarding academic progress.
  • Celebrate student successes and communicate concerns when interventions are needed.
  • Document parent communications and instructional support activities as required.
  • Collaborate with Student Success Coaches and campus staff to support student success.
Learning Environment & Professional Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain active engagement with students during instructional time.
  • Implement effective classroom and virtual learning management strategies.
  • Uphold school policies, procedures, and expectations regarding academic integrity and student conduct.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to support campus and organizational goals.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Follow all state, federal, and organizational requirements regarding student services and confidentiality.
  • Support compliance efforts related to special education, English Learners, and other student support programs as applicable.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate appropriate to assignment.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and virtual learning platforms.
Preferred
  • Experience in alternative education, online learning, or blended learning environments.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learners.
  • Full-time, year-round position.
  • Combination of in-person and virtual instructional responsibilities.
  • Applicants must reside within the Phoenix metropolitan area.
  • Travel between campuses may be required as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
