Training Instructor / Specialist
The Manager of Training and Learning Solutions will define and develop learning strategies for ASSA ABLOY EMS products, applying creativity and instructional design principles to produce programs that meet the needs of diverse professional users across a variety of modalities and media. The role requires the ability to imagine innovative solutions, engage subject matter experts and learners, manage in‑field trainers, and deliver engaging tools that increase our brands’ impact in the marketplace.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess organizational needs and create annual plans for online/interactive delivery and traditional instructor‑led training, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts (including Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, IT, and external parties) to identify opportunities and create training content that addresses customer needs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from scoping and budgeting through development, delivery, and evaluation.
- Act as an internal knowledge‑sharing champion, using creative approaches to raise awareness of training programs and tools and to build a culture that treats knowledge as an asset.
- This position directly supervises the in‑field trainers.
- Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, education, training and development, organizational development or a related field, or equivalent work experience. - Experience:
Five or more years of business experience, ideally in Instructional Design, Training, or E‑Learning; four or more years of progressive experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing across the organization. - Familiarity with information‑intensive industries or digitally advanced enterprises is preferable.
- Demonstrated interest and aptitude for developing content, technologies, and training personnel.
- Personnel Management:
Manage and grow in‑field trainers to maximize their ability to develop and deliver training, set KPIs to measure effectiveness, and optimize processes for both efficiency and impact. - Computer
Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with e‑learning, learning management systems, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Captivate, Articulate, Adapt, Audacity, PIM/DAM platforms, as well as web and mobile UI/UX is desired. - Language Ability:
Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, technicians, and assemblers. - Other

Ability to drive change in a dynamic and complex operating environment; excellent leadership and communication skills; strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills; and the ability to organize broad information from numerous sources into cohesive, usable, and effective content.
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling; use of hands and arms; clear and effective communication. Requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
