PMDB Coordinator RN
The PMDB Coordinator RN demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to improvement in quality-of-care outcomes. Collaborates with all services in assessing and evaluating the need for PMDB education, training, and continuing education related to mandatory requirements and individual or group needs. Demonstrates competencies in Principles of Adult Learning, instructional skills, competency assessment, development and validation methodologies, communication skills, strategic planning skills, and creation/visionary skills.
The PMDB Coordinator is accountable for the development and delivery of the PMDB Program including needs assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for the assignment of additional levels of PMDB training to employees based on the facility's annual Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA). Develop and implement information systems to track service education and prevention activities. Collaborate with facility leadership and Quality & Performance to ensure facility policies are compliant with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements regarding workplace violence prevention training.
Partners with Education to track training assignments and completions for all facility staff. Submits training plans, assignments, and completions to the Veterans Affairs Central office (VACO) PMDB Program per VACO PMDB Program instructions. The PMDB Coordinator ensures PMDB Facility Trainers are initially certified by completing a Train-The-Trainer (TTT) course and then recertified via the annual PMDB Trainer Recalibration Conference or a Facility Trainer Recertification Assessment (FTRA) every 4 years.
Coordinates assignment of PMDB Facility Trainers. Documents and tracks which levels each PMDB Facility Trainer is certified to teach to ensure they teach enough classes in that level each year to maintain training skills. Ensures facility Master Trainers perform their minimum courses per year and recalibration every 2 years. Ensures employees assigned to provide training have sufficient methods, times, and opportunities to complete biennial skills assessment to determine if retraining is needed.
Coordinates fiscal, space and human resources sufficient to conduct facility trainings at all levels. Completes all appropriate documentation for local conference approval and travel necessary to implement the PMDB program. Ensures access to all available PMDB training curriculum and training tools are available to Facility Trainers and Master Trainers.

After meeting pre-employment requirements, candidates will receive a final job offer and start date. Onboarding tasks may continue after starting, with HR ensuring timely completion for a smooth transition into VA service. If selected, applicants should be prepared to come onboard within 30 days of the announcement closing.
