Reach Associate

The Reach Associate (RA), under the guidance of instructional staff, harnesses relationships with students and staff to facilitate student learning. This role is designed for an aspiring educator who excels in non-traditional settings, facilitating individualized graduation paths for students with untapped potential. RAs have the opportunity to directly interact with students as they engage in learning relevant to their individualized goals.

RAs also assist in organizing, managing, and creating a productive, safe, and positive classroom atmosphere, including managing transitions and reducing distractions. RAs contribute to consistent access to education so that every studentno matter how long they are with uscan make progress and plan for what comes next.

Has successful experience working with children. Believes all students, regardless of circumstances, can learn at levels higher than their current achievement indicates. Is strong in relationship-building, but not afraid of accountability. Has the initiative and persistence necessary to accomplish challenging tasks. Aligns one's own behavior with the needs, priorities, and goals of the organization. Is experienced working with students who are behind in credits, chronically absent, or facing barriers outside of school.

Works cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals. Has the ability to adapt one's approach to the requirements of a situation.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Preferred Education and/or Experience High School Diploma AND meet one of the following:
Minimum of 48 college credit hours earned, or Associate Degree, or successful completion of the approved Para Pro Assessment. Technology proficiency Valid Arizona DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card Bachelor's Degree English as a Second Language endorsement Experience working in a secure care of self-contained environments. Work experience in schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Instruct individual students, groups of students, or classes of students in curricular areas guided by instructional staff. Monitor independent work time in classroom. Collaborate with team to monitor and assess students' ongoing academic progress. Collaborate with team to devise special strategies, including the use of digital learning or technology for reinforcing skills and concepts based on the understanding of individual students and their needs.

Implement lesson plans and instructional materials in alignment with designated/adopted programming. Uses data to track academic growth and pivot instructional strategies under the direction of instructional staff when a student hits a plateau. Follow the school's discipline program and seeks assistance to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.

Knowledge of:
Foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Digital learning programs and strategies for troubleshooting De-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Skilled in:
Navigating educational technology and data management systems to track student progress. Ability to:
Assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics with students of varying age and skill levels within the same classroom. Communicate effectively. Establish and maintain trusting relationships that promote learning with students. Hold students accountable for learning.
