We are a non-profit charter holder for three charter high schools in Arizona. Avance is Chicanos Por La Causa’s (CPLC) new Community High School. Our small teacher-to-student class sizes allow our teachers to provide individualized attention.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
- Provide quality instruction pertinent to the applicable area, as well as provide extensive knowledge of cooperative learning strategies, differentiation, and small group instruction.
- Have the ability to incorporate research-proven teaching strategies into daily lesson delivery.
- Be familiar with the AZ State Standards and ACT Standards.
- Work with diverse populations.
- Maintain a strong classroom presence and develop daily, and unit lesson plans that are thoughtful, goal-oriented, and aligned with the curriculum.
- Master the necessary content knowledge and skills to successfully teach assigned content area(s) and grade level(s).
WHO YOU ARE:
- Maintain a positive attitude and build positive and appropriate relationships with students.
- Excellent at communicating with students, parents and staff.
- Collaborative and can work with colleagues to create and implement interdisciplinary standard-based project learning.
- Interested in growth as a professional educator and excited about participating in ongoing professional development and learning.
- Organized and detail oriented to be able to maintain accurate student records including progress reports and report cards.
SPECIALIZATIONS
- Deep understanding of inquiry-based instruction.
- Experience teaching upper-level math and science preferred.
- AVID experience or certification, preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor or Masters degree in education or content area required.
- Arizona Teaching certification required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the AZ Standards.
- Must possess a valid Class 1 or Class 2 Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in planning for academic improvement in academic areas other than your own, as needed.
- Willingness to teach multiple grades and subject levels.
- Willingness to differentiate instruction.
- Willingness to oversee/ advise extracurricular activities (student clubs, intramural sports, music instruction, etc.).
- Willingness to work with students before or after school to support their academic growth.
- Experience utilizing community experts and community resources to enhance content instruction preferred.
- Experience building student and parent relationships to improve student achievement.
- Experience working with an underserved student population.
