The Phoenix Union High School District serves 24,000 students and 3,400 employees in Arizona’s capital, offering comprehensive and specialty schools, support schools, micro‑schools, magnet programs, and CTE.

SUMMARY

Regional School Psychologist collaborates with campus‑based psychologists to ensure compliance with evaluations, consider a student’s free appropriate public education (FAPE), and address academic and behavioral needs impacting eligibility, placement, and discipline. The psychologist serves as the 504 coordinator for the region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with campus psychologists to support student needs, including evaluations and report compliance under IDEA.
  • Provide direct support and collaborate with the Assistant Principal of Instruction (API) and campus 504 Coordinator on evaluations and eligibility considerations for students referred for Section 504.
  • Support campus personnel with meetings (METs, testing, MDRs, crisis/safety plans, or parent meetings).
  • Assist the Lead Psychologist with trainings and development for Psychologist PLC meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s Degree in school psychology and 3–5 years of school‑based school psychology experience.
  • Licensed by the Arizona Department of Education as a certified school psychologist;
    Arizona Licensed Psychologist preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse and multicultural populations.
  • Experience designing and facilitating trainings and programming.
