The Student Success Specialist implements the school’s initiatives while providing support services in the areas such as: student attendance, academic performance, behavior and health. The role communicates with teachers, parents, students, and support staff regarding student issues in the areas of attendance and academics. The position will be heavily monitored by the school as its duties and responsibilities are essential to meeting compliance requirements for the state of Arizona.
Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure that all new students complete new student orientation requirements and follow up with new students after a two week period to gauge student adjustment to our campus and adjust students’ academic plans if needed.
- Complete athletic grade checks weekly and communicate the results to all coaches, students, and parents.
- Collect, interpret, and use student attendance data to develop strategies addressing dropout prevention.
- Collaborate with the attendance clerk, counselor, and school administration.
- Maintain a collaborative network among school guidance, attendance, and school-based services support.
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, parents, students, support staff, and the community regarding educational programs, services, and various student issues; assist in coordinating and arranging various programs and services to meet student needs.
- Provide outreach, liaison and guidance services to assist in resolving student issues and problems in areas such as attendance, academics, behavior and health; work with parents, teachers, and others in developing and implementing strategies, goals and objectives for resolving student issues.
- Contact parents to discuss student needs, issues and progress and provide assistance in meeting student goals and objectives; follow up on student issues, progress and problems with staff, teachers and others to assure needs are being met.
- Attend and participate in various meetings as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school and state
- Relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of relevant technology
- IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Fluency in Spanish (preferred)

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
