Responsibilities
  • Implement Positive Operational Culture principles and provide instructional services to students.
  • Collaborate with staff in a supportive fashion, emphasizing a positive attitude toward students, staff, and program.
  • Report to Vice Principals and/or Principal.
  • Diagnose, prescribe, and evaluate student progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Confront inappropriate behavior appropriately and take necessary action as outlined in program procedures.
  • Accept additional tasks as assigned, including flexible work schedule and extracurricular assignments.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid State teaching credential in English, Math, Science, and/or Special Education.
  • Related experience working with at‑risk youth.
  • Three or more years of successful classroom teaching.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Instructional strategies and how they can be employed to deliver curriculum and assess student learning.
  • Methodologies and research related to learning and working with at‑risk, high school‑aged youth.
  • Effective classroom management and behavioral management techniques for various learning styles.
  • Effective communication techniques enabling positive collaboration with site staff.
  • Technology use as an educational tool.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to establish a teaching rapport with students that results in student achievement in all program areas.
  • Pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.
