SUMMARYThe Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator serves as a facilitator and resource person for the continuous improvement of instructional delivery. The Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator is responsible for mentoring, coaching certified staff, researching, developing, implementing, and recommending research‑based professional development resources and methodologies aligned to our District‑wide strategic goals to improve student achievement. The educator mentor supports Professional Learning Communities and facilitates adult learning at the site as it relates to the site and district goals, working collaboratively with the school community to achieve improvement goals.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Coach and mentor new and continuing PXU staff to increase student achievement.
- Design and deliver professional development programs and activities for individuals and groups based on research‑based instructional practices, including the use of effective instructional technology aligned to district‑wide strategic goals.
- Collaborate and support professional learning communities with strategic professional development, including data‑driven strategies to improve student achievement.
- Participate in developing the site Integrated Action Plan (IAP), conducting classroom walkthroughs, and assisting with facilitation and implementation of district and school‑wide staff development activities.
- Serve as coach and mentor by making classroom visits, modeling demonstration lessons, team‑teaching, and providing feedback; implement the site induction for new staff and support continuous professional development of new and continuing staff/teachers.
- Participate in the design, revision, and implementation of the Certified Induction Experience.
- Assist with induction for site staff and collaborate with the T & L Division for Certified Induction Experience (CIE) implementation at the site, supporting district‑wide regional approaches based on school needs.
- Research and recommend research‑based methodologies, technologies, and resources for instruction improvement, incorporating these strategies into staff development activities and adult learning experiences.
- Participate in developing and implementing the school’s IAP related to staff development activities and adult learning experiences.
- Collaborate and support the site instructional leadership with data related to adult learning.
- Participate in professional activities to maintain and continuously improve skills, understanding of adult learning, and effective use of instructional technology.
- Attend and participate in onboarding adult learning experiences for all coaches, mentors, and T & L certified support roles at the campus and district level, aligned to district‑wide strategic goals.
- Master’s Degree highly recommended.
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful secondary certificated teaching experience, with three (3) years at PXU.
- Documented training and/or experience in research‑based instructional delivery methods for all student levels, adult learning, group facilitation, and technology integration.
- Documented experience in coaching and mentoring adults professionally.
- Documented experience in researching, developing, and implementing adult learning theories.
