Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator
The Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator serves as a facilitator and resource person for the continuous improvement of instructional delivery. The Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator is responsible for mentoring, coaching certified staff, researching, developing, implementing, recommending researched-based professional development resources and methodologies aligned to our District-wide strategic goals to improve student achievement. The Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator supports the Professional Learning Communities and facilitates adult learning at the site as it relates to the site and district goals.
The Educator Mentor / Adult Learning Coordinator works collaboratively with the school community to achieve school and district improvement goals.
Essential Functions:
- Coach and mentor new and continuing PXU staff as it relates to increasing student achievement.
- Design and deliver professional development programs and activities for individuals and groups based on researched-based instructional practices including the use of effective instructional technology aligned to the district-wide strategic goals.
- Collaborate, and support professional learning communities with strategic professional development, including strategies to collect, receive, analyze, and use data to improve student achievement.
- Participate in the development of the site Integrated Action Plan (IAP), site classroom informal walkthroughs, and assist with the facilitation and implementation of district and school-wide staff development activities.
- Serve as coach and mentor by making classroom visits, modeling demonstration lessons, team-teaching, and providing feedback, implement the site induction for new staff, and support for continual professional development of new and continuing staff/teachers.
- Participate in the design, revision, and implementation of the Certified Induction Experience.
- Assist with the induction for site staff and work with T & L Division for Certified Induction Experience (CIE) implementation at the site, and through a district-wide regional support approach based on the needs of each school.
- Research and recommend researched-based methodologies, technologies, and resources for the improvement of instruction and incorporate these strategies into staff development activities and adult learning experiences.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the schools IAP as related to staff development activities and adult learning experiences.
- Collaborate and support the site instructional leadership (instructional cabinet) with data related to adult learning.
- Participate in professional activities to maintain and continuously improve skills, understanding of adult learning, and effective use of instructional technology.
- Attend and participate in the onboarding adult learning experiences for all coaches, mentors, and T & L Certified support roles at the campus and district level which is aligned to the district-wide strategic goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree highly recommended.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years successful secondary certificated teaching experience, with three (3) years in PXU.
- Have documented training and/or experience in a variety of researched-based instructional delivery methods for all levels of students, adult learning, group facilitation, and integration of technology in instruction.
- Have documented experience with coaching and mentoring adults professionally.
- Have documented experience with researching, developing, and implementing adult learning theories.
- Have documented expertise and experience with standards-based curriculum, researched-based best practices instruction, interdisciplinary planning, and effective assessment methods.
- Have effective experience with implementing data-dialogue activities with all staff to improve student achievement.
- Have knowledge and experience with responding to the instructional needs of diverse student and staff populations.
- Demonstrate experience to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups, student groups, community partners, partner districts, sites, and district departments/divisions.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the attainment of the mission and goals of the district.
