Great Hearts teachers guide students in a variety of subjects across grades 6-12, including Humanities, Math, Science, Fine Arts, Languages, and Physical Education. Teachers lead students through intelligence, charisma, humor, moral integrity and example—in short, through love and friendship. Roles And Responsibilities- Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
- Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
- Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home‑school partnerships.
- Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
- Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
- Certification is not required for general education
