• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting within K-12 school settings preferred
• Possession of nationally recognized interpreter certification (RID or EIPA preferred)
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and communication needs
• Ability to adapt to various educational subjects and age groups
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Professionalism and discretion with sensitive student information

• Interpret spoken language to ASL and vice versa for students, teachers, and staff during classes and school events
• Support deaf or hard-of-hearing students in both individual and group settings
• Collaborate with educators and special education teams to facilitate access to all academic material
• Assist in IEP meetings or parent-teacher conferences as required
• Adapt interpreting style to meet diverse student needs and learning environments
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district and ethical guidelines
