ASL Para educator
AB Staffing is looking for ASL Paraeducators that are available for the 2026/2027 school year.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or its recognized equivalent (GED) and two years of study at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree (or higher); or passing score on a state or local assessment.
- One (1) year of successful experience working with students
- Maintain and possess CPR/AED and First Aid card
- Completion of the Arizona State Para educator Core Competencies and/or certificate of completion of an interpreter training program.
- Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
Job Description:
- Caseload and details of position will differ based on school location. Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom and best suits your experience and skillset.
- Contract through the 2026/2027 school year – 35 hours per week
- Contract follows the academic district calendar
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group instruction for hearing impaired students as directed; demonstrates and assists students with skill development exercises.
- Implements designated portions of lesson plans. Provide interpreting and transliterating services for assigned hearing impaired student
- Prepares the classroom and helps manage the students; organizes the room and materials; records attendance; maintains bulletin boards
- Sets up and operates audio visual equipment
- Performs photocopying and general office clerical work
- Performs related work as required
Salary: $1,225 – $1,470 per week
