To assure that all students learn the basic and essential skills at each grade level.

• Current Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate
• Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of State and National Standards.
• Other qualifiers acceptable as per board discretion.

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
• Assesses accomplishments of students regularly and provides progress reports as required.
• Identifies learning problems of students and seeks assistance of specialists as required.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
• Assesses progress and preparation of students for state testing.
• Assists in implementing policies governing student life and conduct, and develops reasonable classroom behavior rules, maintaining order fairly.
• Provides availability to students and parents for educational purposes outside instructional day as needed (Open House, Parent/Teacher Conferences, etc.).
• Maintains and improves professional competence.
• Cooperates in planning and/or participating in in‑service training programs at school or district level.
• Shares responsibility for the supervision of all students in all areas of the school during the school day.
• Continues professional growth through attendance at workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework.
