Director of Student Life – Phoenix Campus
Will work closely with faculty, staff, students, and senior leadership to foster a supportive and inclusive campus environment. Play a critical role in advancing the university's mission and goals, promoting student retention and success, and supporting students' personal and academic growth.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Provide leadership and oversight for Student Life programs, services, events, and related facilities usage.
- Supervise and develop Student Life staff, fostering a collaborative and student-centered culture.
- Manage departmental budgets, policies, and procedures.
- Serve on university committees and collaborate with academic and administrative partners to enhance campus life.
Student Support & Engagement
- Lead initiatives that support student development, engagement, belonging, well-being, and retention.
- Advocate for student needs and ensure student perspectives are represented in campus decision-making.
- Develop programs that promote leadership, community engagement, and personal growth.
Student Conduct & Crisis Response
- Oversee student conduct processes and support compliance with university policies.
- Serve as a key resource during student crises, coordinating support services and campus response efforts.
Campus & Community Partnerships
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus departments to support student success.
- Build partnerships with community organizations and nonprofits to expand opportunities for student involvement, service, and volunteerism.
- Assessment & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate programs and services using student feedback and engagement data.
- Monitor and report student success and engagement outcomes to inform decision-making and planning.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field required.
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Student Affairs or Higher Education, including supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of student development theory and higher education best practices.
- Experience with student conduct, crisis management, and student support services.
- Demonstrated success in staff supervision, budget management, and program assessment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with student information systems, assessment tools, and data analysis.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus community.
