The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students is a multifaceted special education program, designed specifically for students with emotional disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities or other educational challenges. Dysart Integrated ACES
- Anticipated start date July 29th 2026
The Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) implements methods and interventions from the student Individualized Education Plan (IEP) to help students achieve IEP goals, develop positive coping strategies, initiate teacher‑driven replacement behaviors, and support all students and adults within the learning environment.
Essential Functions- Provide instructional and behavioral support to special education students and school personnel.
- Implement methods and interventions from students’ IEPs to achieve goals and develop coping strategies.
- Provide safety, security, supervision, and academic support to students in classroom, hallways, lunch, recess, and special classes.
- Maintain continuous visual or direct supervision of each student.
- Assist students with personal hygiene needs, including toileting, with dignity and respect.
- Organize daily routines for instructional practices and supervise school‑aged children.
- Assist in safe physical management of students in crisis when necessary, trained through Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
- On‑the‑job training in CPI, CPR, and non‑violent crisis intervention.
- Ongoing skill development throughout the school year.
- Patience, care, understanding, and passion for students with special needs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required; all training provided.
- Prior experience working with children preferred.
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card required for working with children in Arizona.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 140 pounds from a standing position.
- Movement and activity including walking, standing, walking up and down stairs, crouching, kneeling, crawling.
- Occasional additional activities as determined by student needs.
- Pre‑employment and random drug screening.
- Background check and ongoing OIG monitoring.
- Prequalification screening as determined by Austin Centers.
Starting at $18/hour (Pay Range: $18.50 – $20.50 USD).
