Job Description

Code Immersion Instructor:

As an Instructor, you are responsible for the student experience in and out of the classroom. These responsibilities specifically lie in the realm of instruction as it pertains to the curriculum set forth by Tech Talent South.

  • Lead instruction of course material in specified class hours.
  • Attend and mentor students during office hours.
  • Be available to mentor students outside of class and office hours.
  • Prepare and create materials, coursework, and homework for students.
  • Lead workshops in tandem with community organizers.
  • Actively participate and contribute to weekly team calls.
  • Teach in a rewarding atmosphere.
  • Take on occasional side projects that may, or may not, be exclusive to your campus.
Qualifications
  • Skills and experience in full‑stack web development, especially in:
    • Ruby on Rails
    • HTML/CSS
    • Front‑End Frameworks
    • SQL
    • APIs/REST
    • Git and Git Hub
    • Deployment
  • Ability to communicate effectively to beginners, with strong communication skills and social aptitude.
  • Passion and understanding of teaching code. Dedication, persistence, patience, attention to detail, and enthusiasm are vital.
  • A good and inviting attitude.
Additional Information

Looking for instructor to teach two sessions:

  • Part‑time:
    Classes meet Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6‑9 pm for 8 weeks.
  • Full‑time:
    Classes meet Monday‑Thursday from 8 am‑11 am, with office hours from 11 am‑12:30 pm for 8 weeks.
