Position HighlightsThe College of Medicine-Phoenix seeks experienced, accomplished and innovative independent investigators with MD, MD/PhD or PhD degrees whose research interests involve state‑of‑the‑art approaches and technologies to address topics in neuroscience, cardiovascular and pulmonary sciences, cancer, immunology and metabolism. Successful applicants will be expected to build comprehensive, multi‑investigator, interdisciplinary teams oriented toward translating research findings into clinical application. A strong track record of publishing peer‑reviewed, high‑impact articles in Pub Med‑indexed journals is required.
Applicants must submit intramural and extramural research grant proposals in the area of their expertise, as well as collaborative program grants. Applicants will also participate in the educational, training and service missions of the home department and College.
Successful candidates will fulfill faculty responsibilities in a suitable department, actively participate in teaching, clinical service and/or scholarly work, and qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant, associate or full professor. They must meet the requirements of either career track or tenure track faculty according to College and University guidelines.
Duties & Responsibilities- Maintain a robust federally‑funded and internationally‑competitive research program.
- Publish research findings in leading high‑impact journals.
- Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within the college and partner institutions.
- Contribute to the teaching and service missions of the college.
- Engage in external academic and professional activities.
- MD, PhD or MD/PhD degree or the equivalent.
- Eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at the assistant professor level or higher.
- Outstanding track record in scholarship and sustained extramural funding as a principal investigator and demonstrated success in program development and mentoring.
