The Wilson School District is looking for a highly qualified and certified K-4 Grade Teacher to teach for the upcoming  school year. College graduates, student teachers, and teacher interns are encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive hiring salary.

Hiring salary: $57,500.00 to $58,500.00 per year. Classroom Site Fund/Prop 301 ($7,000 is included in the salary) and up to 10 years of teacher experience are considered. Teachers with additional education can earn the following salaries: BA+15hrs ($1,140), BA+30 ($2,280), BA+45/MA ($3,420). Other possible payments (if eligible) include $3,000 for National Board-Certified Teacher, $1,500 for BLE, $1,000 for ESL, and $500 for Prov ESL.

Performance pay up to $3,000.00. An additional stipend is offered for hard-to-fill teaching positions: $2,000 for Special Ed Teacher, $1,500 for Math Teacher, $1,500 for Science Teacher, and $1,000 for Speech/Language Arts Teacher. Teachers will be eligible for one hard-to-fill stipend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implements district philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals, establishes student performance objectives for all lessons, and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Assesses student performance, determines if objectives are achieved, and refers students for specialized help when necessary.
  • Plans a program of study based on identified student needs.
  • Employs instructional methods and materials most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  • Evaluates student accomplishments fairly and provides progress reports as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Maintains accurate permanent academic and attendance records.
  • Makes the decision to promote or retain a pupil in grade.
  • Provides a physical and psychological atmosphere conducive to learning and holds students accountable for disorderly conduct.
  • Supervises pupils on playgrounds before and after school, during recess, and all other periods of the school day.
  • Upholds and enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board policy.
  • Attends and participates in faculty and department meetings and serves on school and district committees.
  • Confers with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.
  • Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Enforces the course of study, uses adopted textbooks, and assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional material.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others and is actively and harmoniously involved in community activities.
  • Prepares all reports required by law, policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as directed by the Principal.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Appropriate teaching certificate issued by the State of Arizona.
PREFFERED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree.
