The Wilson School District is looking for a highly qualified and certified K-3 Special Ed Resources Teacher to teach for the upcoming  school year. College graduates, student teachers, and teacher interns are encouraged to apply. We offer a competitive hiring salary.

Salary: $57,500.00 to $58,500.00 per year. Classroom Site Fund/Prop 301 ($7,000 is included in the salary), up to 10 years of teacher experience. Teachers with the following education levels can earn additional salary: BA+15hrs ($1,140), BA+30 ($2,280), BA+45/MA ($3,420). Other possible payments (if eligible): $3,000 for National Board-Certified Teacher, $1,500 for BLE, $1,000 for ESL, $500 for Prov ESL. Performance pay up to $3,000.00.

We also offer a stipend for hard-to-fill teaching positions: $2,000 Special Ed Teacher, $1,500 Math Teacher, $1,500 Science Teacher, and $1,000 Speech/Language Arts Teacher (eligible for one hard-to-fill stipend).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement district philosophy of education and instructional goals; establish desired student performance objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.
  • Guide the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals; assess student performance to determine if objectives are being met, and refer students for specialized help when necessary.
  • Plan a program of study based on identified student needs; employ instructional methods and materials most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
  • Evaluate student accomplishments fairly and provide progress reports as required by law, district policy, and regulation; maintain accurate academic and attendance records.
  • Decide on promotion or retention of a pupil in grade; provide a physical and psychological atmosphere conducive to learning and hold students accountable for conduct.
  • Supervise pupils on playgrounds, during recess, and all other periods of the school day; uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and governing board policy.
  • Attend and participate in faculty and department meetings; serve on school and district committees; confer with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Cooperate with other staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods; enforce the course of study, use adopted textbooks, and assist in selecting instructional materials.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relations with others; actively and harmoniously involve community activities.
  • Prepare all required reports; perform other reasonable duties directed by the principal.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; appropriate teaching certificate issued by the State of Arizona.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree;
Master's degree.
