SUMMARY

Responsible for leading, managing, and implementing the overall JROTC unit program curriculum according to US Army Cadet Command (USACC), national, state, and district regulations, policies and standards. Leads other assigned Army Instructors (AI) in promoting cadet leadership, intellectual development, character education, and physical growth. Performs as the department Instructional Leader (IL). Responsible for managing and implementing and delivering the military service's national education curriculum and program requirements to include the preparation, planning, coordination, delivery and supervision of all co‑curricular Service Learning, special activities or events in support of the USACC JROTC Unit Report (Military Ball, Drill Meets, Honor/Color Guards, JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl, Adventure Team and other co‑curricular activities).

Responsible and supervises property management and budget controls for the unit and administers the automated cadet record system (JUMS) and reporting for both military and district information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage, present, and oversee instruction delivery in accordance with lesson plans contained in Cadet Command Instructors Manual/Curriculum Manager V3.
  • Maintain a presence in classroom and outside training areas, promote a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Set the example regarding personal appearance, including the wearing of the prescribed uniform and maintain compliance with US Army Cadet Command Height/Weight allowances.
  • Serve as Primary Hand Receipt Holder for all site US Government and District Property on site.
  • Be responsible for the timely submission of all required US Army Cadet Command and PXU reports, forms and documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with district and school officials, colleagues, and parents.
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge, engage in PXU Professional Development activities, and connect academic knowledge to real‑life situations.
  • Perform and supervise other duties as stated in PXU board policies and/or state statutes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
  • US Army Officer (W‑1 through W‑5 or O3 through O6) who has separated/retired within the past 5 years with a minimum of 10‑year cumulative honorable service.
License and Certification Requirements
  • Possess JROTC Instructor by US Army Cadet Command (Phase
    1) certification.
  • Possess Arizona JROTC Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Grades 9‑12 certificate.
  • Possess Child Care National Agency Check and Inquiry Certification maintained with the US Army Cadet Command.
  • Possess National Federation of State High School Associations/Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaching certification.
  • Obtain and maintain PXU vehicle certification.
  • Possess a valid Arizona State Driver's License.
  • Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching certificate preferred.
