ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide quality instruction to students
  • Prepare daily lesson plans
  • Evaluate students' skills to determine the best program of learning
  • Write and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP)
  • All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & AM ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Arizona Academic Standards
  • Knowledge of Career and Technical Education Standards
  • Knowledge of Current educational and diagnostic practices as they apply to educating sensory impaired students
  • Knowledge of Lesson plan and Individual Education Plan development
  • Knowledge of Student evaluation practices
  • Knowledge of Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
  • Knowledge of Principles and practices of administration and management
  • Knowledge of Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
ABILITY TO
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public
  • Instruct students to retain information
  • Complete student evaluation
  • Develop lesson plans
  • Work cooperatively in teams
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor Degree in Education with related coursework specific to areas of Deaf/Hard of Hearing or in STEM field
  • Preferred:
    Master Degree in Education with related coursework specific to sensory impairments to areas of Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or Special Education
  • Must possess Arizona Department of Education certification:
    Specialized Secondary STEM, grades 6‑12 OR Subject Matter Expert Standard, grades 6‑12
  • Mandatory prerequisite coursework mandated for secondary teaching positions must be satisfied
  • Must be able to pass FBI and State background check
