Arizona Cultural Academy (ACA), based in Phoenix, AZ, is dedicated to shaping students with exceptional character, knowledge, and leadership. ACA has over 20 years of operation, COGNIA accreditation, and serves more than 300 students in a purpose-built campus. Our mission is to empower the Phoenix community with knowledge, spirit, and service while maintaining a strong Islamic ethos.
We are seeking a qualified Middle/High School Humanities Teacher (English Language Arts and Social Studies) to join our academic team. This role is essential in helping students develop strong literacy, critical thinking, and historical understanding while supporting the mission of building a modern private Islamic school from daycare through grade 12.

The ACA Humanities Teacher demonstrates intentional planning and preparation by:
- Preparing and teaching English Language Arts and/or Social Studies courses at the middle and/or high school level
- Creating weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations
- Developing instructional materials, unit plans, assessments, and learning activities
- Establishing clear learning objectives for each lesson and unit
- Selecting and using a variety of learning resources and instructional technologies
- Designing instruction that supports differentiated learning needs
- Assisting in the development of individualized learning plans for students when necessary
The ACA Humanities Teacher creates and sustains a classroom culture that is respectful, organized, and conducive to learning by:
- Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment
- Building positive and respectful relationships with students
- Establishing and enforcing classroom rules and procedures
- Implementing effective classroom management strategies
- Supporting school discipline policies and PBIS practices
- Preparing classrooms and materials for instructional activities
- Demonstrating strong moral character and Islamic values in daily interactions
The ACA Humanities Teacher delivers effective instruction that promotes student engagement, academic growth, and meaningful learning by:
- Preparing, teaching, and facilitating engaging lessons in ELA and Social Studies
- Using instructional strategies and learning activities that support student understanding
- Supporting differentiated instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
- Encouraging and monitoring student academic progress
- Evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, tests, and participation
- Providing timely and constructive feedback on student work
- Using a variety of learning resources and instructional technologies to enhance instruction
The ACA Humanities Teacher fulfills professional responsibilities by:
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and academic performance
- Preparing reports and communicating student progress with parents and school administration
- Participating in department meetings, staff meetings, and professional development
- Collaborating with other faculty members to support student success
- Communicating regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress
- Giving and receiving feedback with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Demonstrating professionalism in conduct, communication, and collaboration with the school community
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field such as history, sociology, political science, international studies, anthropology, economics,and psychology required
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in K-12 education required
- State Teaching Certification preferred
- An understanding of pedagogy, curriculum design, and child development
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong Command on classroom management strategies
- Pedagogy and curriculum development
- Knowledge of PBIS preferred
