Job Title

Strings Teacher (.2 FTE) – Explorer Middle School, Phoenix, Arizona

Position serves as a middle school teacher responsible for developing student success in academics, arts, and physical education. Duties include lesson planning, instruction, assessment, and collaboration with staff, parents, and the community. Reports to Site Administrator.

• Administer subject‑specific assessments and tests.
• Advise parents and legal guardians on student progress and classroom goals.
• Provide counseling to students on academic, health, and personal issues.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with instructional staff, school personnel, district personnel, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Implement pedagogical approaches that engage learners and address individual needs.
• Differentiates classroom work to provide individualized learning materials.
• Direct student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers.
• Instruct students to improve academic success.
• Manage student behavior for a safe learning environment.
• Monitor students in various settings (classroom, field trips, events).
• Participate in meetings (district, staff, departmental, PLC team).
• Prepare written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records).
• Report health and safety issues to administrator and authorities.
• Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators to resolve issues.
• Respond to emergency situations to ensure safety.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Desired job‑related experience.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate, Core Content Area Certification, SEI Endorsement required.
• Criminal Background Clearance and Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
