Position Overview
AMS is seeking a 4th Grade Teacher to join the AMS Power Campus in Mesa and support scholars as they transition into upper elementary academic rigor.
The 4th Grade Teacher will help students develop advanced reading comprehension, structured writing skills, and multi-step mathematical reasoning, preparing them for middle school expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Achievement
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks.
- Support student growth in reading comprehension, writing development, and complex mathematical reasoning.
- Use data-driven practices to guide instruction and academic interventions.
Classroom Culture & Student Development
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and achievement-oriented classroom culture.
- Implement PBIS systems and reinforce positive student behaviors.
Collaboration & Professional Growth
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to improve student outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and PLCs.
Family Engagement
- Maintain strong communication with families regarding student progress and learning goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or Elementary Education OR
- Valid Arizona teaching certification OR
- Minimum of three (3) years of K–12 teaching experience
Additional requirements include:
- Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills
- IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Commitment to serving diverse student populations
