Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; some evenings and weekends may be required. Summer
Hours:
Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Work Calendar: 12 Months.

Join Phoenix College in advancing the Learning College philosophy by serving as a key leader within the Office of Student Life & Leadership. The Student Services Specialist Sr provides program coordination and technical expertise to drive campus-wide initiatives that inspire student engagement, cultivate leadership development, and promote a welcoming, student-centered campus culture. Reporting to the Manager of Student Life and Leadership, this position oversees daily operations of the Student Union, streamlines office workflows, and trains and supervises front desk staff to ensure exceptional service.
This role connects student organizations, faculty, and community partners to bring innovative programs and collaborative opportunities to life.
- 40% - Student Union Operations, Supervision, & Training: Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Student Union, supervise front desk staff and student employees, develop and assess training programs on customer service, safety, and institutional procedures. Coordinate front desk coverage, establish service standards, and manage space reservations in collaboration with campus partners. Provide leadership and performance feedback to front desk staff to support student engagement and success.
- 35% - Program Coordination & Student Leadership Development: Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of campus and district-wide initiatives (e.g., PC United, Catalyst, Leader Shape), and student clubs. Collaborate with administration, faculty, staff, and vendors to design inclusive, culturally relevant programming that supports student learning and leadership development.
- 20% - Student Advisement & Support: Provide high-level advising and referrals to students involved in clubs and leadership programs. Serve as a subject matter expert on MCCCD policies and procedures, including travel, budgeting, purchasing, and student conduct to ensure compliance and risk management.
