PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Saint Mary’s High School provides an inclusive Catholic learning environment where students are supported academically, spiritually, and personally. The Learning Resource Center provides a structured setting for students who need approved testing accommodations, academic support, quiet study space, and accountability. The Learning Resource Center Proctor supports this work by supervising students, organizing testing procedures, helping implement approved accommodations, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring that the space remains focused, respectful, and orderly.

This position works under the direction of the Director of Student Services and assists faculty, students, and families by helping students access support responsibly and successfully.

The Learning Resource Center Proctor supports the Catholic mission of Saint Mary’s High School by promoting the dignity, respect, accountability, and care for every student. The proctor models patience, professionalism, and compassion while helping students follow Learning Resource Center procedures, use accommodations appropriately, and remain engaged in their academic responsibilities.

This position requires clear communication by phone, email, and in person; strong attention to detail; sound judgment; and the ability to manage daily responsibilities in a timely and professional manner. Flexibility, organization, confidentiality, and initiative are essential to supporting Learning Resource Center operations. This position reports to the Director of Student Services.

Supports the academic needs of students and the established expectations of Saint Mary’s High School:
  • Supervises students assigned to the Learning Resource Center for testing, study support, academic intervention, or approved accommodations
  • Assists with organizing testing materials, student schedules, seating, timing, and approved testing accommodations
  • Provides a structured, quiet, and respectful environment that supports student focus and accountability.
  • Monitors students in the appropriate use of learning materials, technology, and testing resources
  • Uses relevant technology and school systems to help document attendance, testing needs, assignments, and student support information
Supports Student Progress And Accountability Effectively
  • Supervises students in the Learning Resource Center and supports their assigned academic responsibilities
  • Communicates with the Director of Student Services, teachers, counselors, and other staff regarding student needs, testing logistics, and academic support
  • Responds professionally to student needs and refers questions regarding placement or parent concerns to the Director of Student Services.
  • Helps explain Learning Resource Center procedures, expectations, and available supports to students, faculty, and families when appropriate
  • Monitors student attendance, work completion, testing progress, and use of accommodations within the Learning Resource Center
  • Maintains accurate, organized, and confidential records related to student testing, accommodations, and support services
  • Assists with the consistent implementation of school policies related to student support, testing, academic integrity, and accommodations
  • Keeps informed of school procedures and expectations related to accommodations, confidentiality, and student support
  • Assists with preparing materials, schedules, and information for faculty and staff related to Learning Resource Center services
  • Prepares basic documentation, notes, and reports as requested by the Director of Student Services
