Empower students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist and impact lives for the full school year in a vibrant educational setting near Laveen, AZ. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to support a diverse K-8 student population, with a focus on unlocking communication and learning potential.

In this role, you will work with approximately 25 students across 10 campuses, providing direct instruction as well as consultative services. Each day brings opportunities to collaborate with dedicated educators and families, ensuring access, inclusion, and individualized strategies.

Qualifications/Desired

Experience:

  • Arizona certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain
  • Experience with K-8 students preferred
  • Expertise in creating and implementing educational plans for DHH students
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
  • Comfortable traveling between campuses (mileage reimbursed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Work 40 hours per week, supporting students across multiple school sites
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to promote success
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records
  • Provide training and resources to staff on Deaf/Hard of Hearing strategies and tools
