Course:
Writing the Genre Film

Understanding genre conventions and tropes is critical to a screenwriter’s success. This course combines script analysis with the practice of writing short scripts for a variety of genres.

What You Will Do:
  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
  • Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
  • Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
What You Will Bring:
  • Minimum:
    Master of Fine Arts in Film Production or Screenwriting from an accredited college or university
  • At least two years professional experience within the film industry.

Employment is contingent upon the satisfactory outcome (as determined by the university) of pre-employment screening activities, including a background check.
