The Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities, helping them achieve academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success. This role collaborates with families, educators, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments that promote student growth, independence, and meaningful participation in the school community.

Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
• Provide specialized instruction aligned to student IEP goals and individual learning needs.
• Assess student performance and progress using formal and informal evaluation methods.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, accommodations, and modifications to meet diverse learning needs.
• Implement positive behavior interventions and classroom management strategies to support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
• Support students in developing academic, social-emotional, communication, and independent living skills as appropriate.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Utilize data-driven instructional practices to improve student outcomes.
• Comply with all district, state, and federal special education policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required.
• Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification/licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP development and implementation.
• Experience working with middle school students and students with diverse learning needs preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and implement evidence-based educational practices.
• Proficiency in educational technology, documentation systems, and data tracking tools.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
