Job Title: Junior Education Experience Designer

Department: Education

Location: Onsite or Remote (Preferably located in CA, FL, IL, NY, TX or VA)

Reports To: Director of Education

Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Pay $75,000 - $85,000

Summary:

Have you ever thought about making the jump from classroom teaching to curriculum design? Well! We are looking to grow our Education team by adding a Junior Education Experience Designer who is motivated and ready to take their career to new heights. As we continue to build our learning platform, Robolink Learn, we likewise need to build capacity for creating and maintaining educational content.

This position will be responsible for executing a variety of projects and tasks including creating and maintaining student and teacher facing resources, curriculum, activities, demos, and instructional videos. The goal of this position is to help grow instructional and curriculum design skills at the industry level for this team member. The role will report to the Director of Education and will work closely with our Learning Experience Designer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit and maintain current education content.
  • Create engaging student centered activities.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with SMEs and cross departmental teams.
  • Record educational video content.
  • Produce accompanying curricular resources (slide decks, lesson plans, curriculum guides, student work books, rubrics, standards alignment, etc.).
  • Write content to fit an already established voice.
  • Travel to trade shows, company headquarters, or testing sites.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in K-12 STEM Education, ideally in computer science or robotics.
  • 3+ years experience designing educational content and curriculum.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to educators and students.
  • Experience teaching with robotics or physical computing systems.
  • Experience teaching block based and Python programming languages.
  • An understanding of common education pedagogy and learning theories.
  • Must be comfortable in front of a camera for instructional videos.
  • Desire to learn and grow instructional design skills.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Excel, Calendly, Notion, Canva, Zoom, Slack.
  • Experience working outside of the classroom with educational technology.
  • Ability to align curriculum to state and national standards.
  • Experience using virtual video studio tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a single time.
  • Knowledge of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways.
  • Has an understanding of UDL and accessibility principles.
  • Has an understanding or willingness to learn, principles of equitable education and culturally relevant teaching.
  • An understanding of AI Literacy.
  • Strong preference for candidates located within Greater San Diego, Chicagoland, New York state, or Texas.
